Cooper, Steven and Savar have taken on a gruelling Port Lincoln 60km Ultra Marathon, raising more than $3,000 for neurosurgical research.

Three Port Lincoln locals have gone the distance for neurosurgical research, participating in a impressive 60km marathon and rasing more than $3,000 along the way!

Cooper, Steven and Savar took on the Port Lincoln 60km Ultra Marathon. The trio set themselves the daunting challenge, despite having only recently started running soically.

It was a big ask, but there was a bigger reason behind it.

The three friends decided the fundraise for the NRF because they wanted to support research that can change outcomes for people living with serious neurological coniditons.

"60km. That's the challenge we are taking on - and it's a genuinely huge, slightly terrifying distance for someone who only started running socially," they shared on their fundraising page.

And in August they crossed the finish line with their fundraising total sitting at more than $3,110!

Completing an ultra marathon is an achievement in itself. Doing it while raising thousands of dollars is amazing!
