GG’s 242km Run Raises Over $10,000 for Glioblastoma Clinical Trials
Three days. 242 kilometres. Over $10,000 raised for Glioblastoma Clinical Trials in SA!

Three days. 242 kilometres. Over $10,000 raised. One incredible effort to change the future for people with brain cancer.
From September 19 to 21, Associate Professor Guillermo Gomez, or GG as he’s known, completed an extraordinary personal and physical challenge. He ran 242 kilometres from Barmera to Adelaide, raising a fantastic $10,345 for glioblastoma clinical trials in South Australia.
He crossed the finish line on Sunday at the City-Bay Fun Run, surrounded by supporters and fellow Team Neuro runners. It was the final stretch of a journey inspired by courage, community, and hope.
Each kilometre represented one of the 242 South Australians diagnosed with brain cancer each year. It was a powerful reminder of the lives affected and the urgent need for better treatment options.
Running for a Reason
GG’s mission was clear: to raise awareness and critical funds for clinical trials that could offer new hope to people diagnosed with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
Through the One Run. 242 Reasons. campaign, GG has already raised an incredible $10,345. This achievement reflects the generosity and spirit of everyone who got behind him.
"This run wasn’t just about the distance. It was about the people we’re doing this for,” GG said.“Glioblastoma has taken too many lives. We need better treatments, and we need them sooner."
