Renée Turner promoted to Professor

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Renée Turner to the position of Professor following the University of Adelaide’s 2025 promotions round.

This promotion recognises Professor Turner’s sustained excellence across research, education and service, as well as her outstanding leadership within the University and the national and international stroke and neuroscience research communities.

As NRF Director of Neurosurgical Research, Professor Turner has played a key role in building strong collaborations between laboratory researchers and clinicians, helping to accelerate the translation of new discoveries into real-world clinical care. Her research aims to improve outcomes for people affected by stroke and traumatic brain injury by better understanding the biological processes that drive recovery and long-term brain damage, and by ensuring laboratory models closely reflect the clinical reality.

We congratulate Professor Turner on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to her continued impact in advancing stroke and neuroscience research.
