Brain Tumour Research in Action: Symposium & Lab Tour 2026

As part of Grey May 2026, the NRF hosted the Brain Tumour Research in Action symposium and lab tour, hosted at the Adelaide University Centre for Cancer Biology.

This event brought together researchers, clinicians, supporters and families to share the latest groundbreaking progress in brain tumour research taking place right here in Adelaide.

Clinical trials and research breakthroughs

Attendees heard updates on:

  • Clinical trials currently underway in Adelaide
  • Emerging treatment approaches being developed locally
  • A new paediatric clinical trial preparing to enrol its first patient here in SA.
  • Advances in preclinical brain tumour models and translational research

These developments highlight the progress being made towards improving outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.

Why this matters

Every advancement shared during this event is made possible through community support. Research funding helps accelerate discoveries from the laboratory into clinical trials and, ultimately, into better treatment options for patients.

Thank you to everyone who continues to make this work possible.

We would like to thank our event sponsors for helping bring our community together and share this wonderful progress.
