Andrew Braves the Shave for Grey May—and for His Mum

One of the standout moments of this year’s Grey May Appeal came from Andrew, a much-loved team member at Munno Para Foodland, who made a powerful and personal statement in support of brain tumour research.

On May 30, Andrew bravely shaved off his beloved dreadlocks—an act of courage and solidarity done in honour of his mum, Mandy, who has been diagnosed with multiple brain tumours. Mandy is not only a devoted mother but also a passionate NRF volunteer, committed to advancing neurological research and supporting others affected by this devastating disease.

Andrew’s bold gesture was more than just symbolic. It was a heartfelt fundraising effort that rallied the community and raised $2,072.52 for the Neurological Research Foundation. His campaign brought awareness to the challenges faced by brain tumour patients and helped fund research that gives hope for better treatments and outcomes.

His actions resonated deeply with those around him, and his commitment didn’t go unnoticed. In partnership with Munno Para Foodland—who once again generously supported the NRF throughout Grey May—Andrew became a face of strength, love, and community spirit.
