The purpose of the AWTBIS to advance the research skills of a junior neuroscientist.
The scholarship can be used for the following research purposes in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury:
Recipients will be required to provide a written report to the NRF within 3 months of the conclusion of their travel or project on the impact the scholarship had and how it supported their training or research. Recipients will also be asked to share relevant images or video relating to the activities the AWTBIS supported, as appropriate, to be shared on the NRF social media channels.
Applications for AWTBIS will open 1st March and must be submitted by the closing date of 30th April to the NRF.
To be eligible the applicant must be a Higher Degree Research student or Early-career researchers (ECRs - less than 5 years since PhD) at a University or research institute in South Australia undertaking Traumatic Brain Injury research.

Applicants will be required to provide a written statement (maximum 1,000 words) including the following sections:
In addition to providing a personal written statement‚ the applicant must provide the names of two referees.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of meeting the eligibility criteria, the written statement and references. The selection panel and the Board of the NRF may award one or more scholarships, depending on the finances available.
