Stroke is one of Australia’s leading causes of death and disability — and it can affect anyone, at any time.
It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. It is also a common cause of dementia and cognitive decline.
Up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.
This is why during the month of May, Team Stroke are walking/running to raise awareness of stroke within the community and raise funds to support vital stroke research.
Led by Professor Renée Turner, Team Stroke is a group of researchers - post-doctoral fellows, PhD students and Masters students - who are all passionate about improving outcomes for those living with stroke.
Join us in supporting Team Stroke – together we can help create a future with fewer strokes, and better outcomes for those impacted. All proceeds raised will go directly to support stroke research here in South Australia.
