Congratulations to The University of Adelaide students Eliza Le Mire, Samuel Stewart and Michelle Kruszewski (left to right)who are the successful recipients of 2022 NRF Vacation Scholarships!
These Scholarships are designed to foster the next generation of budding researchers, providing the opportunity to develop their interest and research skills over 6-8 weeks as they work on real world-class research projects right here in SA.
Eliza and Samuel have been working alongside A/Prof Frances Corrigan (pictured left) in the Head Injury Group lab on projects investigating pituitary dysfunction after traumatic brain injury, and neurotransmitter dysfunction as a possible link between TBI and later neurodegeneration.
Michelle will be working with Dr Anna Leonard in the Spinal Cord Injury Research Group (pictured right) investigating the effects of peripheral nerve simulation with a novel graft antennae to reduce neuroinflammation following spinal cord injury.
Congratulations to all our recipients, we can't wait to see the impact of your work and hope this is the beginning of your esteemed careers in neurosurgical research!
