Research and Equipment Research Donations 2017
General neurosurgical research and Paediatric neurosurgical research.
The NeuroSurgical Research Foundation (NRF) supports research following its inception by Dr Trevor Dinning and Professor Donald Simpson in 1963. The mission of the Foundation is to promote, foster, develop and assist the study of all matters related to neurosurgery by encouraging, stimulating and aiding research and investigation, engaging public interest and cooperation with other research organisations.
The subjects of research include head injury, intracranial haemorrhage, neurodegeneration, sciatica, spinal cord injury, stroke and brain tumours. The NH&MRC system is used to assess research donations.
Funding this year is available for research donations for clinical and basic science research, including consumables and treatment equipment in three categories:
General neurosurgical research up to the value of $20,000 for existing neurosurgical projects undertaken in South Australia.
Neurodegeneration neurosurgical research up to the value of $25,000 for existing neurosurgical projects undertaken in South Australia.
Paediatric neurosurgical research up to the value of $50,000 and must include an Interstate or Overseas collaboration.
The current round of applications closes on Monday 2nd October 2017.
