Tonia:

Survivor

Tonia, busy at work, started getting headaches and losing focus. Instead of ignoring these critical symptoms she went to see her doctor. The next five days changed her life.

She was referred to a neurosurgeon who saw her the next day and sure enough the scan showed a brain tumour.

The tumour was on a main vein; there was a high risk of
haemorrhaging. Tonia had a few days to get her life into order before the removal of the tumour. She was to take six months
off work. The operation was a success and the tumour was removed, she did not lose her sight and the neurosurgeons saved her life again as they also found a thrombosis, which could have caused a stroke at any time.

After a long recovery of 18 months Tonia is back at work enjoying her future. Not so long ago this would not have been the case.
