Christopher is able to enjoy tennis and following the Holden racing team with Mark Skaife and Peter Brock his favourite racers.
Three years ago, when he was aged nine, his mother did not believe this would be possible. After a 3-week history of severe headaches and neck soreness he was diagnosed with a choroid plexus papilloma in the left ventricle, which is a rare benign brain tumour.
Christopher’s tumour was deep within the brain and in the days before good neuro-anaestesia and good operating microscopes it would have been extremely dangerous to remove, if possible at all. There is only one case like this diagnosed in Australia every five years and found mainly in children.
The tumour was found to be very vascular and was removed without any problems. Follow up scans have showed the tumour to be removed completely and he is considered to be cured.
Christopher is now able to look forwards to a future and dreams of becoming a lawyer, and would like to get his pilots license. But as first preference, if he were good enough, he would like to become a professional motorcycle racer or a professional tennis player.
We wish Christopher all the best with his future dreams and aspirations.
