Executive Officers Report

The NRF is extremely grateful to you, all our donors and members whose donations enable us to fund the lifesaving research you read about in our Annual Report and Newsletters. We thank you all for your ongoing support.
We also have many people who play key roles in promoting and fundraising for the NRF, I would also like to thank them for their time and work.

I would particularly like to thank some key volunteers who help me and the NRF at many of our events and activities, without the dedication and time given by these people, the NRF would not have been able to host the following activities:
  • the Charity Card Shop volunteers: Di Floreani, Bethwyn Levi, Sheryn Miles, Sherrie Pascoe, Ilze Thomas, Anne Tothill and Wendy Trow.
  • the Paediatric Launch: Julia Atterton, Phill Bartley, Penny Bowen, Jessica Cossich, Anna Curyer, Rosemary Day, Di Floreani, Mark Hassall and Valda Jones.
Additionally, I would like to thank our Ambassadors who share their lifesaving neurosurgical stories to promote the NRF, these amazing people not only share their amazing life saving stories they also attend many NRF events to promote our cause.

Those who shared their stories with us this year and who will promote the Paediatric Appeal: Alex, Cadel, Corey, Missy, Shanice, Toni and Tyler.

Finally I would like to thank the Ambassadors and their families who attended the Ride Like Crazy event at dawn on Sunday 17th January this year to set the 2,000 cyclists off on their challenge: Alex, Anna, Di, Missy, Ryan, Sheryn and Tyler, On a sadder note two of our very special Ambassadors have lost their fight with their illnesses and have died during the year.

I would like to thank Paul Sherman and Graeme Marshall and their families for all their past support. People are still dying and losing their fight and that serves to remind us of the importance in continuing research to find cures and lifesaving treatments as fast as possible.

So we ask that you please continue to support the NRF through donations, bequests and volunteering so that more lives can be saved and changed.
