Neurosurgical Research Foundation - Corpus

The Neurosurgical Research Foundation was established in 1963. The Council of the NRF has raised and granted over $3.4million to neurosurgical research in Adelaide, throughout Australia is funding two positions at the University of Adelaide.

In addition the NRF has been fortunate to receive a further $1.2 million in donations and bequests which has been invested and retained for future research grants.

The NRF is pleased to announce that in Nov 2007 the Council decided to formalize the ongoing funding of the NRF by setting aside an amount of $1.2 million as a Corpus. The investment earnings on this Corpus will be used to fund the administration expenses of the NRF.

The Council has resolved that 80% of all monies raised by the NRF and donated to the NRF in a financial year will be used to fund neurosurgical research. The remaining 20% will be added to the Corpus and retained for future research grants. This is to be revised in the NRF February Council Meeting on an annual basis.

PR Statement:
The NRF directs 80% of all money raised to immediate annual neurosurgical research grants and 20% is invested in the Corpus to be retained for future research grants.

The NRF covers all administration from the interest earnings from the Corpus.
