
NRF 2008 Awards & Recognitions
The awards presented recognised our key supporters, our volunteers and donors who have been actively involved with the NRF. Celebrating their life-saving neurosurgical experience, key NRF volunteers were recognised and thanked for their work with the NRF, along with many South Australian companies, donors and supporters. The awards were given at Government House on October 30th by His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC, CSC, RANR.
Some were also allocated at the NRF Christmas Morning Tea held at Fullarton Community Centre.
The supporters acknowledged and awards received were:
• Life Membership was awarded to Richard Campbell, for over 25 years graphic design work.
• Life Membership was awarded to Roger and Peggy Cundell, for generous donations.
• Life Membership was awarded to Prof Donald Simpson in recognition of his services to the NRF since its inception 45 years ago in 1963.
• Life Membership was awarded to Mr Bill Cooper for services to the NRF.
• Benefactor was awarded to the following people for generous donations: Mrs Anne Tothill, Quota International of Broken Hill, Dr Rex & Joyce Sweatman.
• Major Benefactor was awarded to: Dr Jeremy Hallpike for establishing the Jane Page Brain Tumour Research Fund.
• Corporate Supporter Award: Companies who have donated their time and expertise on an ongoing basis to the NRF received this award. These companies include: RAAF ASOG (Aerospace Support Operation Group) for the Todd to Torrens event, Coopers Brewery Foundation, Grahams Jewellers, Peter Lehmann Wines.
• Certificates of Appreciation for Volunteers who made the 45th Celebrations a success:
Di Floreani, Anna Curyer, Jessica Cossich and Paul Sherman (deceased).
• Certificates of Appreciation for Volunteers for ongoing promotional work and volunteering: Bronwen Murphy, Sian Murphy and Wendy Trow.
