Deputy Director and Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Automotive Safety Research.
Achievements:
Recently awarded (jointly) the Penfold Simpson Prize for Neuroscience Research for work on the biomechanics of head impact injury.
Research with the Neurosurgery Department:
- Biomechanics of axonal injury (understanding the physical origins of one of the most common forms of brain injury)
- Computer simulations of brain injury production
- All experimental work for this research relied on the Department of Neurosurgery
